Nickel for Non Profits |

Whole Foods Markets (650 W. Shaw,
Fresno) is partnering with the Clubs in
a Nickel for Nonprofits. Whole
Foods will offer a 5-cent bag credit for
each reusable bag a customer uses to
take home store purchases. The
customer may choose to donate that 5
cents to the Boys & Girls Clubs. This
promotion runs until September 26.

The Boys & Girls Clubs are participating in
the S.H.A.R.E.S partnership with Save Mart
and Lucky Stores in Fresno County. Please
stop by and pick up a S.H.A.R.E.S. card from
our office or email us and we will send you
one. With
this card, which looks like a credit card,
you can make a donation of up to 1% of your
purchase every time you buy groceries at one
of the participating stores. The
donation costs you nothing, but you must
swipe the card for the Boys & Girls Clubs to
receive credit. Call

Camp Esteem for Kids August 2-5
|

|
Every year we take a select group of
Boys & Girls youth to enjoy a camping
experience. These
camps include outdoor adventures,
fishing, hiking, ropes courses, and so
on. The
camp is sponsored by the Fresno Housing
Authority. We
call it "Camp Esteem" and this year it
is being held at Shaver Lake. Our
theme is "Be Great," and we are
encouraging kids to reach for a great
future.

National Night Out |
|
The Boys & Girls Clubs support
communities that participate in National
Night Out every summer or fall. National
Night Out is sponsored across America,
usually in August, by law enforcement
and emergency agencies that want
neighbors to learn to know each other so
they can keep their neighborhoods
safer. All
of our Clubs observe National Night out
and plan special events for the parents
and kids in our neighborhoods. Check
with the Club in your area for their
observance of National Night Out.
